Hmm, well you won't find out much about their playing level from their profile, whatever you read there. (My playing is level is set to private, mainly so that I don't have to play against people who object to describing their level as private. I don't seem to find myself short of games.)

System, maybe, although if there is nothing there it may be reasonable to assume at least a working knowledge of BBO standard as published in the help system.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

I've recently noticed some player profiles which have no flag.  I can't figure out how to set my profile so that no flag appears (not even the United Nations flag).  Is there a way to do this while still having a public profile?

Just delete your flag...

How?

In your BBO directory on your computer... Folder 'Flags' perhaps? :)

Ah, I was still looking for an "option". Thanks.

A possible reason may also be, that those players created
their account using the new flash version.

My guess is, if you do it this way, you wont have a windows
version installed on your computer.

With kind regards
Marlowe

PS: I doubt someone would seriouly delete a folder.
With kind regards

Does that really work? I would expect my flags folder to be used for displaying other people's flags on my computer, not the other way round.

If you delete your own flag it works. But I didn't test it on other people's profiles...

I haven't deleted the entire folder, if you want to know, just try it :P

Deleting the local copy of the flag does not work. You cannot see your own flag, but others still can.

Hmmnn, let's see....at the partnership desk....nope that one, too old; that one neither, don't wanna play with young kids and never with that one, (I hate people that wear shirts with messages).....and err..that one looks harmless so I should be able to browbeat them incessantly and fulfill my ego-demands for the day....."sigh"

For me it is just a question of looking to see if they play 2/1 and consider themselves advanced or expert (worldclass tend to be out of my world or worldcrass, if you get my drift). I play enough with them to be able to make an appropriate comment in my player notes or I make them a friend and look for them the next time I want to play.

When you inject some real life into the artificial world of on-line bridge it helps restore a sense of reality which makes the game a little more human.

I see you're what my grandmother would have called a bit of a rapscallion.
