3 Show my support and the value of the hand.
I think 4 would be too much opposite a minimum hand.
Partner will know what to do now.
Maybe the heart suit gives us a slam though.....

3 as splinter and then we'll see where to play. I have agreed to cuebid shortness in partners suit so if I hear cue from partner, I atleast know that we have to play in spades.

Doesn't a jump in the 4th suit show 5 - 5 in the reds?

I don't like 4. If dummy gets tapped at trick 2, all those hearts become worthless.

4 now.

Now you see both hands. Where do you want to be at MP? (and where at IMPs?)

It was a hand from a BBO team match (Nuremberg vs Stuttgart) but were 2 - 2 and 3 - 2 with the Q onside so on a non- lead you even make 7, but that wasn't the point...

Pretty sure I'd end up in 4H.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Care to tell me how, Han? Previous posters suggested 3, 4, etc.

I cannot imagine raising spades with this hand, maybe I don't play enough matchpoints.

I can see two possible bids: 4H and 2D (artificial GF). At the table I'd probably bid 4H.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

What is your strategy?

IMO 4 should systemically paint a clear picture of good and a fit

3 at MPs, 4 at IMPs.

We have a 4-4 fit? Didn't notice.

This really looks like a 4 bid to me, now or on the previous round.
Kind regards,

You are kidding, right?

Suppose you hold:

x
KQJTxxxx
Kx
Kx

What do you suggest bidding over 1?

Would you really have bid something other than 1 at your first turn to bid?
