Double.

Why not? I may have six card support for my suit, but not for partner's.

2S. Double is likely to fetch 3D.

I hate myself for this but I'm passing. I think 2S and double are awfuller than pass. Maybe I should bid 3C. Very tough hand.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Pass.

Agree with Han this is tough.

Holding A5 of hearts, it is not so likely partner has a trap pass. Therefore he could have doubled with spades, but did not. Often partner is just broke, so I pass. 2 is also reasonable. If we are going to bid, 2 - showing our second suit - seems better than 3. Don't like double, partner won't be able to pick us for a singleton diamond.

I would rate the bids Pass, then 2, then 3 then double.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

2S, you could easily have a game opp a hand too weak to make a negative X. You could easily have a partscore in 2S or 3C when the opps are making 2H. There is some chance partner has a trap pass.

Despite the norm I still bid 1 Club with most 5/5 in the blacks. So 2 Spade here may show a 5 card suit to most of my partners. But I would still bid it, because a double would show another hand and pass may be a winning bid, but it surely is a whinning bid, so I won`t use it.
Kind Regards

Roland

pass is +150
double +500
anything else goes into a game that bad splits won't let you make.

2 = 10, _X = 9, _P= 2.

I am too weak to double with this distribution as I can't stand a 3 or worse bid.

So the choice is 2 or Pass. I have too much playing strength to pass so 2 it is.
