One of my teammates is trying to register for the BBO forum, but keeps getting an error message that he has to use his BBO screen name [which he is in fact using.]

I tried to create a new account with a second BBO id and got the same error. But obviously, this account still works.

What are we doing wrong?

Thanks in advance..

For some reason, certain people seem to have trouble registering with their bbo nickname. Have them message me or rain, and we can add them to the membership here with a temporary password they can change. We can be messaged by anyone using their own bbo nickname on gaming site (Send us bbo mail if we are not on line).

I register about one person a week on average this way.

Thanks Ben--someone should figure out why this is happening in case others are trying to register and just giving up...

Some time ago, we had a problem with "spam bots" registering for the forum and then posting ads for porn sites and the such. Our administrators would delete the post and ban the user, and even the isp's but they kept coming back. So we introduced this little idea for all new members to try to stop that nonsense. No problems with the spam things since then, and many can register just fine. It is not clear why some have the problems your friend did. At least not to me, but I know it occurs.
