Finally I no longer have to keep my mouth shut about all the great work that the team has been doing ;).

There has been a lot of excitement in the camp about the Forums release and the Myhands feature that we have added to BBO.  We hope you enjoy them and invite your questions, comments, and concerns in this thread (or any other appropriate location on the boards).

Sometimes I get asked what us yellows are doing when we're just sitting there not talking or playing.  Much of the time it is general oversight and we may not actually have the BBO window open.  It's one of those "if the world blows up we can at least be there to see it" type views.  Also the presence of a "yellow" has been known to cut down on some of the rude and discourteous behavior much in the way that a policeman sitting on a highway will make people obey traffic laws :).

Other times the yellows are just chattering away at each other plotting and planning for new features and policy.  I admit I'm notorious for not playing near as much bridge as I should be and my game shows :).

The toughest part of our job has to be handling the unreasonable.  Fred is always far more amiable to conflict resolution acceptable to all parties including the offender - I tend to not :)  Most of my reason is not for being a hard-nose; it is because the developers have far more important tasks that benefit BBO other than running our mouths (yeah yeah, I know) to those who are just trying to cause trouble.  We'd rather be working on the Forums or such :).

That is just a glimpse of what we do - I know it's not glamorous, but it's what we love.  I'm about to go on a year of having been with Bridgebase and it's been wonderful the entire time.

Look forward to meeting all of you here and at the table :).

Best wishes,
John
