While not visible to our regular members, there is a private forum available for verified experts as well as designation in your forum account profile.  This forum is open to anyone who has been recognized as a "star" player on BBO or can otherwise show their credentials to Fred Gitelman as being an expert/world-class player.

If you are already recognized as a star player please reply to this message with your name, account name on BBO, and your interest and I will set you up.  Those who are not so recognized should email fred@bridgebase.com requesting star designation.

That's what I'm referring to - those who are certified stars should post in this thread - I'll verify it and grant access.  Those who are not need to get this designation from Fred or permission to be added to this group - since he's the only expert we have that can verify the level of skill of another player it has to go through him .

I'm not a world class player (wcp) and never will be but.... it seems a shame that those of us that arnt cant have the benefit of seeing what things are discussed in the world of high level bridge.  

Perhaps you mite consider allowing us to read the various threads that the wcp's have going without giving us the ability to respond / participate in the thread.

I'm always interested in whats going on in the international world of bridge. I follow all the major world competitions, and have many friends / acquaintances that are world class players and i can tell you that just being in their prescence has helped me grow immensely as a bridge player.

I too would like to see what they say. But I suspect we would then be tempted to jump over to some other area of the BBO and comment on what they are commenting on. So I suspect that may not be what the BBO administrators had in mind. As Grouch Marks once said, "I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member." Maybe being refused to see what they talk about makes it more desirable to join. I suspect the really good players are much too busy to spend time posting often in such a (semi-public) forum.

Actually I may be removing the forum altogether.  Nobody is missing much - there has yet to be a post to it.  I'll keep everyone posted.

The Experts-Only forum no longer exists.  Star players may still be recognized in their forum accounts but seeing as the forum never was used it was somewhat pointless.

Any comments, questions, or concerns (as always) can be posted in this thread or privately messaged to me.

Hey, if only my stock prediction were as good as my speculation in the post about the Expert-only forum where I said "I suspect the really good players are much too busy to spend time posting often in such a (semi-public) forum.

I'm closing this thread and locking it for archive purposes.  The experts-only forum again, no longer exists.  Those who are recognized experts on BBO can still receive this designation for their forums account by contacting myself or Fred privately with their BBO username and forums username.
