I am sure we all know the low lifes who sexaually abuse the young individulas. they get caught, send to jail and soon after back on strret. this is the backgrowned My dissapointment over some where in Canada a PHD was given the task to see if he can find the cure. my suprise was a victim right group who protested strongly to this research. ,there objection was criminals were getting 60 dollars. local newspaper run front page denounseing the 60 dollars. To me if the PHD finds the cure we all bel benefit and victim right group will change their minds.

Basically, he's saying that pedophiles get out of jail, and cannot be prevented from recommitting their crime.
A professor is trying to study methods to prevent recidivism, but victim's rights advocates are protesting because the perpetrators are being paid (so it's like they're profitting from their crime).
Is it scary that i can understand the gist of what he's saying? I'm sure freaked out.

I suppose an alternative would be to make participation in the study a condition of the perpetrators' parole. But I suspect the victim's rights groups would object to any reduction in sentence as well.
Groups like these often have a hard time seeing the big, long-term picture; it's much easier to focus on the perpetrators who profit, rather than all the potential future victims who may be saved. Then again, that assumes that the research will actually be able to find a cure (shades of A Clockwork Orange); if not, many sex offenders will have been paid and society will have reaped little benefit (except for the basic knowledge that we can't cure these people).

I heard that pedophilia is a psychological complex that cannot be treated (barring something like chemical castration), but I am too lazy (don't care enough) to check if this is actually valid

(barring something like chemical castration),
manual castration with a blunt knife would be a more popular method
