I am stuck at the

Loading Player List. Please wait.

For like 2 days already. The symptoms is that the player list will load very fast by 200s till 4800 or so then stopped. Occasionally(maybe once in 20 retries) it managed to load till 7000+ players and actually complete the loading of players and proceed to get stuck at the loading tables part.

Brilliant! No more evil restrictions!

I hope someone can help me.
I'm living at a student campus at the moment and I can't log in to BBO (in both the downloadable program and BBO via internet). I do have an internet connection. I tried to modify BBover already (with all the suggestions in this thread), but it still fails to log in.

In the downloadable program, it's stuck at the "logging in please wait" screen. In the internet progam, it keeps logging in until it gives me a message that says that the connection is broken.

Can you help me to fix this problem? I really want to play Bridge...

Thanks!
Miriam

To enter via the new version of BBO (web), try this:

http://www.bridgebas...ent.php?port=80

Does this help?

Flash has gone crazy. First few times I tried signing in I went from the userid/password screen to a blank screen.
3rd or 4th time I signed on ok but when I clicked tournaments - substitues I get a white screen with an exclamation mark in a circle in the middle of the screen!

Oh maybe someone took my comments 'I dont play in tournaments any more and I am trying to give up signing up as a sub' seriously and this is a reminder for me to go and do something useful :)

Anyone else having trouble or is BBO down?

The old version of BBO (client?) won't run anymore on my Windows XP PC; it locks up at the news window. The web version does not allow any restrictions on viewing tables as far as I can tell; I am used to restricting tables to Western Hemisphere and English-speaking countries, mostly to try and limit things to a manageable number. The main bridge club is simply unusable IMO; you cannot view any information about a table before clicking to join, and even clicking fails because the screen updates before you can react fast enough to click. I don't find BBO useful for casual bridge games anymore; it's fine for Vugraph, partnership bidding practice, and arranged foursomes.

I would appreciate fixing the BBO client or adding options to make the table list manageable in the Web version.

There haven't been any changes to the old version of BBO. Have you made any changes to your PC software? Since you said it happens when it tries to display the news, have you changed anything related to Internet Explorer, which is used to display the news?

What happens when you try?

A new version of Flash came out a couple of days ago, make sure you've updated.

Both forums and BBO itself was not accessible from here around 11 a.m. local time, which is UTC+2. Am I the only one affected?

We didn't have any other reports of problems, and our usage graph looks pretty normal, so I suspect it was a localized routing problem with your ISP.

When you have trouble connecting to a web site, http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ is a good resource to check.

I could not access the forums website at around 9:00pm EDT last night (May 28). I didn't try to access the site until this morning, and all is well now.

I am sure you can help. I was trying to log in to bbo using my smart TV and encountered this snag. When I get to the log in page, the key board doesn't come up automatically for me to feed my id ans password . I am sure that if I incorporate mmy id andnpasword in the address itself ( something like bridgebass.../php/clientid=s_arun pwd=......). Can you tell me the syntax?

When I go to http://www.bridgebas...ient/client.php, I see the advert on the left but the BBO client is nowhere to be found (just a blank white screen).

Is there a service interruption at the moment?

FWIW I'm using IE8 on Win XP and never had this problem before.

I am having major problems signing in also. It has been going on for over a week now. The adv banner comes up, but I can only see the BBO logo flash on and off, but the log in box doesn't show up. To get in takes 10-12 tries now, I cant figure out what makes it finally work. If I have a scheduled game, I have to start trying to log on, 45 min before. Very frustrating-
