Out of curiousity, what systems (Precision, 2/1, etc.) are the Final 8 using?

Pick a system (well - other than SAYC)
Odds are good it will be there
Hamway - strong c
Meckwell - their own ver of precision
Rubin-Ekeblad - ultimate precision
Fantoni Nunes - Fantunes
versions of Ambra, 2/1 and others
You must know the rules well - so that you may break them wisely!

Nickell-Freeman aren't that far away from SAYC...

Wrong Arend. From their system card:

5 card Majors, Strong NT, 2/1 Forcing to game except when a suit is rebid twice.

Necessary cavaet: Theres figures were derived from looking at past events. its entirely possible that folks may have changed methods

5 card majors = 10
Polish/Swedish Club = 5
Precision like = 3
Strong club + 4 card majors = 2
Other = 2

It seems clear that some version of 5 card majors coupled with a strong 2/1 bid and a natural 1 opening is the overwhelming favorite. (It could be argued that this number is slightly inflated because many of the clients are playing some version of 2/1)

The large number of Polish club pairs (predominantly) suggests the fact that a team with a lot of Poles is still in contention.

Nick Nickell / Richard Freeman = 2/1 Game Force
Hamman / Soloway = Strong Club, 4 card majors, canape tendencies
Meckstroth / Rodwell = Precision

Tuszynski / Kowalski, Warsaw = Polish Club
Assemi / Wojewoda = Unknown (I suspect Polish Club)
Kodayam / Bykov = Unknown (I suspect Polish Club)

James Cayne / Michael Seamon = 2/1 Game Force
Alfredo Versace / Lorenzo Lauria = 2/1 Game Force (pretty much)
Fulvio Fantoni / Claudio Nunes = F + N

Ron Rubin / Ekeblad = Strong club, 4 card majors, canape tendencies
Martel / Stansby = 5 card majors weak NT
Moss / Gitelman = 2/1 Game force (unless they're strong clubbing)

Lou Ann O'Rourke / Marc Jacobus = 2/1 GF
Hampson / Eric Greco = Strong Club, 5 card majors
Duboin / Bocchi = 2/1 Game Force (pretty much)

Rose Meltzer / Kyle Larsen = Standard American
Alan Sontag / Bates = Strong Club, 5 card majors, strong NT
Geir Helgemo / Tor Helness = 4 card majors, bid game ever hand

Welland / Fallenius = Carrot Club (not quite sure who is playing with whom)
Welland / Sementa = ???
Balicki / Zmudzinski = Polish Club

Bramley / Feldman = 5 card majors, strong NT, 2/1 GF
Fleisher / Kamil = 2/1 GF

Shouldn't there be a broadcast now? What's up?
