If you haven't heard these guys you are in for a treat - real musicians and songwriters performing their own music. Link is to "Time Spent in Los Angeles" by Dawes.

My favorites in order are: The Beatles, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison. I'd say Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes) fits in nicely with this crowd. :D

I have seen the video of The Current : it is nice and refined and comments are justyfied ; i think you could appreciate "Something about you look tonight"by Elton John (it is strange that song we don't hear more around in radio probably for commercial interests but i'm not sure of this https://www.youtube....c4-oICH&index=4)

I strongly urge a listen to Eric Clapton and friend's new album "The Breeze", a tribute to Tulsan J.J. Cale. It is on Spotify, and here on Youtube.

Speaking of Clapton, which is fine speaking:

Autumn Leaves was a favorite tune in my youth. A recent discussion with a friend led me to check it out on YouTube. Of course there were the versions I remembered. But:

I found Clapton:

And, to my further surprise

And apparently the French had the song first:

The Sibelius violin concerto.

But, sadly, I'm "listening" by reading the score and relying on my memory of how it sounds.

Anyone have a recording recommendation? I tend to prefer interpretations that reveal the structure of the music rather than the mood of the performer. And reading the score has made me realize just how important the clarinettists and bassoonists are to this piece.

Someone posted an article about how Deadheads (those nomadic slackers who followed the Grateful Dead around on tour) were instrumental (heh) in popularizing vegetarianism and burritos in the U.S., so I'm in a Dead mood today.

Power song in our household a few (sheesh 10 already?) years back. My kid, 2-yo at that time was singing that along with kindergarten tunes:
